long bio…
Hailing from the tranquility of the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, UK, Ash Dodd is a product of his environment. Having grown up listening to his mother’s eclectic record collection, Ash was influenced from an early age by a whole host of musical legends ranging from David Bowie to Aretha Franklin, from The Jam to Fleetwood Mac. This diverse range of musical education is certainly evident in Ash’s music, as he constantly shifts from genre to genre, as seen with the contrasts between power ballad ‘Dysphoria’ and the soulful ‘Slow Down’.
Having grown up in the same area as acts such as The Cure, Rag’n’Bone Man, and Keane, Ash started writing songs as a teenager, originally accompanied by only his acoustic guitar. Taking inspiration from contemporary artists such as Sam Fender, Noah Kahan, and Boygenius, Ash found his footing writing about everyday life.
Ash has extensive experience playing live. Having supported notable acts like The Hoosiers and Skinny Living, Ash is no stranger to playing to playing to a large audience. Alongside his original music career, Ash has played as a cover act across the south of the UK, playing in Dover and Swansea, and everywhere in between!
In 2025, Ash is making his start on his as yet untitled debut album, which will “soundtrack the life of a 21st-century teenager”. Having released critically acclaimed EP “Songs That Make My Friends Cry”, Ash’s album will revisit fan favourites in a new light, as well as expanding on the sound that Ash has established in his releases thus far.
